 In order to improve citizen safety, the City of
Lufkin has purchased the Everbridge Aware™
emergency alert system. The system uses listed phone
numbers. This system will allow City
of Lufkin emergency managers to quickly and
efficiently notify hundreds to thousands of people in
the event of an emergency. These notifications can be
sent to anyone via :
- Cell phone
- Home phone
- Email
- Text message
- Fax
- Pager

What does Everbridge Aware™ do?
As soon as the city is provided
with information Everbridge Aware™ will be able to
alert residents about severe weather……fires……flash
flooding……gas leaks and many other items relating to the
safety of the citizens.
Additionally, Everbridge can be
used to notify the residents about important activities
like road closures, Garbage and Recycling pickup
changes, water utility maintenance and local event
updates.

Who can get alerts and notifications?
All residence listed in Lufkin’s
9-1-1 database are automatically subscribed to receive
alerts by phone. Any resident may
self-register to
customize how they wish to receive these alerts. The
success of the system depends on residents having
current and correct contact information in Everbridge
Aware™. To self-register, simply go online to
www.alertlufkin.com.
