Panthers escape
Lufkin holds on for 36-29 homecoming win over pesky Conroe

It wasn't Lufkin's best game. But after battling through four
quarters the Panthers were more than willing to take the win.
Lufkin overcame an early deficit and held off a tenacious Conroe
team on its way to a hard-fought 36-29 win over the Tigers on
homecoming night Friday.
Lufkin appeared to be in control much of the night but could never
shake the Tigers, which handed the Panthers a loss last year. But
the Panthers made the key plays when they needed them most to get
the win.
