Lufkin spanks New Caney
Pack rolls to 47-6 victory over Eagles

By JOSH HAVARD
The Lufkin Daily News

Saturday, October 10, 2009

NEW CANEY — A day of rain that led to a muddy field was nowhere near enough to slow down the Lufkin running attack as the Panthers racked up 365 yards and six touchdowns on the ground on their way to a 47-6 win over the New Caney Eagles in the District 14-5A opener here Friday night.

A heavy rain hit the Houston area for much of the day and the sprinklers came on just before the opening kickoff, leaving some poor footing and some tough conditions for throwing the ball.  Read the article in the Lufkin Daily News.
