The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider the following item at the May 22, 2017 Commission meeting:
Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a request from Michael Parker, R.P.L.S., on behalf of Nathan Worthen, for approval of the Final Plat of Harris Street & Berry Road Subdivision, a 9.208 acres tract of land west of the City of Lufkin city limits and north of Highway 94.
A Public Hearing to consider the request will be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East Shepherd Avenue by the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
The Board of Adjustments and Appeals (BOAA) will consider the following item at the June 7, 2017 BOAA meeting:
Conduct a Public Hearing to consider the appeal of Mark Gibson, applicant, and Benjamin Gibson etal, owners, to review the City of Lufkin Planning Director’s determination that a manufactured home (not an Industrialized Housing structure) is not permitted in the “Agricultural” zoning district. This request is for property addressed as 4002 Southwood Drive.
A Public Hearing to consider the request will be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East Shepherd Avenue by the Board of Adjustments and Appeals on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 8:00 AM.
Watch For Your Ward Town Hall Meetings
As part of the development of the new Comprehensive Plan for the City of Lufkin, a series of neighborhood conversations are scheduled for the month of April. Each council member will host a community conversation in their ward and members of the planning team will be available for conversations. Neighborhood residents are invited to attend and share their thoughts and ideas about the future of the community, as well as express any specific concerns or desires related to their neighborhood. The meeting is designed as an open house with a come and go, or come and stay format. Residents, business owners, and anyone interested in the future of Lufkin is invited to stop by to see maps and images depicting options for the future of the community. Planners and designers from Burditt Consultants will be on hand to answer questions and collect feedback and childcare will be provided.

Ward 5: April 13, 5:30-7:00pm, Brook Hollow Elementary Cafeteria (1009 Live Oak Lane)
Ward 6: April 3, 5:30-7:00pm, Kurth Memorial Library (706 South Raguet Street)
