The Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing to consider the following items at the November 26, 2018 Commission meeting:

Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a request by Mike Hineman, owner, for a Special Use Permit for a Storage Facility-Self Service on approximately 2.5 acres on the southern half of property described as 5445A OLD UNION RD REVISION #1 BLK 1 LOT 3, and more commonly known as 2205 Old Union Road in a “Local Business” zoning district.

Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a request by Mark Hicks, applicant, for a Special Use Permit for a Craft Distillery at property described as 3570 CITY OF LUFKIN BLK 4 LOT 15 - 16, and more commonly known as 118 South First Street in a “Central Business” zoning district.

Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a request by Ed Morgan, applicant and owner Geraci. Richard, to change the zoning on property known as 1701 and 1801 South John Redditt Drive from “Restricted Professional Office” to “Local Business."

Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a request by Dr. Ralph Rose, owner and applicant, to change the zoning on property described as ABS 0474 MCCLUNG C H, Tract 1, Acres 1.084 and more commonly known as 1703 Tulane from “Restricted Professional Office” to “Local Business”.

The Public Hearings to consider the applications will be in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East Shepherd Avenue by the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 5:00 PM and by the City Council on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 5:00 PM.




Lufkin's 2018 Comprehensive Plan

The City of Lufkin developed and implemented a new Comprehensive Plan in 2018. The Comprehensive Plan is a long-range master plan for our community. Our last long range planning effort was undertaken in 2001. The Comprehensive Plan establishes a vision for the future of Lufkin and provides goals, objectives, and policies to help us realize the vision. It provides the framework, or road map, to guide our community leaders and staff in their decision making.
