Welcome to the Public Works Division of the City of Lufkin.
Public works is comprised of several departments including
the Engineering, Street, Sewer Collection, Water Production,
Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, Recycling, and
Solid Waste Departments. The Public Works Division is under
the Assistant City Manager, Keith Wright, P.E. In addition
to the above departments, the City's GIS capability resides
within Public Works.
The
Public Works Division played a significant role in
supporting the Hurricane Rita effort and will continue to do
so in any future emergency operations. Members of the
various departments help setup shelters, move food and
supplies, distribute food, ice, and water, and participate
in any cleanup efforts. The departments are service
oriented and prepared to assist the citizens of Lufkin at
all hours, day and night.
Several on-line services are available from the family of
Public Works departments. You can monitor real-time
rainfall from three networked monitoring stations, there are
numerous data backed, layered GIS maps including the
locations of sex offenders, and we have on-line forms for
reporting potholes, water leaks, and streetlight outages.
Additionally, you can review the street reconstruction list,
get updates on street reconstruction from our video feature
City Hall Update, request permits online, get
information on tap fees, and review detailed subdivision
plats. The Technical Construction and Specification
Manual is online and numerous other manuals and policy
PDFs are available from the download section.
The
new website features improved navigation and you have access
to all the Public Works Division page menus from each page
within the Department and you can search the entire site
from each page. We hope you enjoy the services and
resources available from Public Works. |
