The zoo's videos are concentrating on activities you might not be able to see when you visit such as animal checkups and other "behind the scenes" activities.

Sarabi, the Ellen Trout Zoo's female lion receives her physical exam. Dr. Mike Nance examined the lion for general health and cleaned her teeth.  The Jr. Zookeepers made paw prints from Sarabi and were able to observe the physical.  Video of the examination.

It's A Boy!  This is a video of the Zoo's veterinarian, Dr. Mike Nance, checking a giraffe calf just days after his birth.  He was assisted by Veterinary Assistant Rebecca Henry, Assistant Collection Manager Allison Six, Mammal Keeper Elizabeth Farmer, Mammal Keeper Erin Day, and Celia Falzone, the zoo's General Curator.  Pekua was given a quick physical, weighed, and released outside with his parents for the first time.  He weighed 146 pounds and was 6 feet 2 inches tall.
