Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Watson began his fire career as a volunteer with the City of Huntington Volunteer Fire Department when he was only 16 years old. He was hired in 1999 as a career Firefighter with the City of Lufkin Fire Department working his way up through the ranks until his appointment to Assistant Fire Chief in January 2020. He brings many technical skills to the position including; Incident Command, EMS, Special Operations, Technical Rescue, Fire Suppression, HazMat and Active Attacker Integrated Response. During his education, he attended the Kilgore College Fire Academy, Angelina Community College, TEEX, ALERRT AAIRS, Texas Interagency Wildfire & Incident Management Academy and the Texas Fire Chiefs Association Fire Chief Academy receiving qualifications including Advanced Structural Firefighter, Wildland Firefighter, Fire Instructor, Paramedic, Fire Officer II, Hazardous Materials Technician, Certified Fire Executive and many more.
A Texas native, Chief Watson is the proud father of five daughters.

Ozzie Jarman

Ozzie Jarman was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief for the Lufkin Fire Department in July of 2020, at which time he was appointed as the Fire Marshal to lead the department’s Division of Life Safety.
Fire Marshal Jarman joined the Lufkin Fire Department as a Firefighter in November of 2001 and worked his way through the ranks. He spent 3 years as the Assistant Fire Marshal before transferring back to operations to work 6 years as a Station Captain. In January of 2020, Jarman moved to Administration as the Logistics Officer.
Jarman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management Administration from West Texas A&M University and an Associate’s Degree in Fire Service Administration from Weatherford College.
Jarman is a Master Firefighter, Master Fire and Arson Investigator, Master Fire Inspector, Fire Officer I, and Instructor I. He is also a Licensed Master Peace Officer and a Licensed Paramedic.
