Payment of a parking citation

Parking citation payments may be made in person or by mail within 12 days of receiving the citation.

To pay by mail, send a check, cashier check, or money order made payable to the City of Lufkin along with the citation. Do not send cash by mail. You may wish to make a copy of the citation to keep for your records. Please include the entire citation number and the license plate number on your method of payment to ensure that the payment is credited to the correct violation. A $25.00 fee will be charged on all returned checks.

Contesting a parking citation

You may contest a parking citation either by appearing in person or by mail within 14 calendar days from the date of the citation and entering a plea of Not Guilty. Failure to appear or make written contact within the 14 calendar days is deemed an admission of liability and all fines will be assessed. If contesting by mail, include a detailed written statement along with the citation and any evidence you want taken into consideration. Please include your name, address, city, state, and zip code so you can receive the Hearing Officer’s ruling.

If you received a letter notifying you that a parking ticket was issued on a vehicle registered in your name and you no longer own the vehicle, you must notify the Court in person or in writing and explain why the parking tickets do not belong to you.
