Our Protocols for Tagging and Pulling Dogs and Cats

  1. Our animals are posted on our Facebook site when picked up: Kurth Memorial Animal Services Facebook
  2. When you see an animal that you are interested in, email us at Please provide the ID# so we have a date/time stamp. We accept tags even during stray holds in an effort to get as much interest as early as possible. We have a 72-hour stray hold before any animal can be dispositioned. Surrenders are available immediately unless otherwise stated. Only the people on your approved list will be allowed to tag animals.
  3. You will be sent a confirmation that tells you where you are in the queue. We work on a first-come-first-serve basis for rescue tags. Potential adopters receive priority if we receive their application during the animal’s hold period.
  4. Once the animal is tagged by your rescue organization you will have two weeks to arrange transportation. We recommend your rescue utilize a foster or boarding facility if transportation is not arranged within two weeks. After two weeks if the animal is not removed from our facility the tag will be removed and the animal will go back up for adoption for the general public. A new tag may be placed after 4 days.
