What is the salary range of a Lufkin Police officer?
Officer: $53k-$80k 
Supervisor: $69k-$108k
+ assignment and certificate pay

Do you offer a sign-on bonus?
Yes, $5k for CERTIFIED PEACE OFFICERS. 

If you are being sent through police academy by the Department then you do not qualify.
What is the recruiting process?

Non-certified recruits will be sent to a police academy for certification.
Certified recruits will enter the field training program.

Is there an age requirement?
You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of the Civil Service exam. The Department has no upper age limit.
What is the fitness requirement?
Applicants for officer positions are required to pass a work fitness test, consisting of a time-restricted 2000-meter row on a Concept 2 rower. Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 50% on resistance level 5 based on the 2000-meter row chart for their age, weight, and gender, using the percentage results for the test battery found on the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) site:
